Assistant Resident Engineer Electrical - Substations

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is hiring an Assistant Resident Engineer Electrical in Abu Dhabi to supervise the construction, installation, testing and commissioning of 132 kV and above substations. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and schedule commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction and installation of AIS/GIS substations (132 kV and above)
• Monitor the erection of transformers, switchgear, CTs, VTs, isolators, protection panels, SCADA and associated equipment
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications and HSE requirements
• Witness testing and commissioning and review test reports
• Coordinate with contractors, clients and project teams for timely delivery
• Monitor project progress, prepare site reports and resolve technical and construction issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in substation projects, with significant exposure to 132 kV and above substations
• Experience in AIS/GIS substations, testing and commissioning, and construction supervision
• Preferred: EPC, utility, consulting or owner's engineer projects involving 132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV or higher voltage substations
