Assistant Resident Engineer - Infrastructure/Stormwater

About the role

Parsons is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer for Infrastructure/Stormwater in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role supports the Resident Engineer in administering the day-to-day operational functions of the project for the assigned works.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field engineering assignments, mainly constructability reviews and observation of work in progress
• Maintain first-level quality assurance so that work complies with plans, specifications and industry standards
• Assist construction personnel with technical details and resolve technical problems within the discipline
• Liaise with the design engineering staff and monitor construction schedules and progress
• Monitor material procurement and deliveries, and ensure tests and inspections are performed, witnessed and documented
• Ensure safe work practices and keep a daily log of construction and discipline data
• Review contractor submissions, supervise site inspection staff, prepare progress reports and hand over utility works to the service authorities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of overall experience in infrastructure and stormwater projects in Abu Dhabi
• Proven track record supervising road and general infrastructure projects
• Strong command of written and spoken English, with excellent technical writing and communication skills

Required skills

• Good knowledge of contractual relationships
• Computer literacy, including data access, record keeping, report generation and engineering/construction software
• Understanding of engineering and construction processes and industry standards
