Bartender - 6-Month Mission

About the role

Sofitel Dubai The Palm, a 5-star beachfront resort on the Palm Jumeirah, is hiring a bartender for a 6-month mission. The resort has 7 restaurants, 5 bars and lounges, and the role is full-time within the food and beverage team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to recipe standards, with attention to taste and presentation.
• Know drink names, ingredients, glassware and garnishes, and recommend specialty drinks such as single malt scotch, cognac, cocktails and craft beer.
• Be familiar with wines by the glass and at least five wines per category on the wine list, and know the bar and dining menus.
• Maintain stock levels, complete daily inventory checks and inform servers, managers or barbacks of changes.
• Ensure guests are of legal drinking age and follow responsible alcohol service protocols; report income accurately each shift.
• Keep the bar and surrounding areas clean and organised, and complete side work such as cleaning and restocking.
• Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and assisting with other tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Previous bartending experience required.
• Must be of legal drinking age.
• Ability to lift, carry and move heavy objects such as kegs and cases of alcohol.
• Flexible availability for nights, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of bar operations, drink recipes and service etiquette.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and provide excellent customer service.
