BIM Modeler – Fire Fighting System

About the role

The BIM Modeler – Firefighting Systems will develop, maintain, and coordinate Building Information Models for firefighting and life‑safety systems. The role involves producing accurate 3‑D models, detailed drawings, layouts, and installation documentation in line with project requirements, approved designs, NFPA/BS standards and local authority regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update BIM models for wet and dry risers, sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, deluge, foam systems, fire pumps, tanks and associated pipework.
• Produce detailed plans, sections, elevations, schematics, isometric and installation drawings from approved design information.
• Coordinate firefighting models with architectural, structural, MEP and other building services models and resolve clashes using Navisworks Manage or similar tools.
• Prepare coordinated shop drawings, builders‑work drawings and as‑built documentation, ensuring compliance with NFPA, BS codes and local authority requirements.
• Support material take‑offs, quantity schedules and provide technical clarification to site teams during construction and commissioning.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• 2–6 years of experience as a BIM Modeler, MEP Modeler or Firefighting Draftsman on commercial, residential, industrial, hospitality or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC project requirements and local authority regulations is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and problem‑solving abilities, and effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Navisworks Manage, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar coordination platforms.
• Knowledge of firefighting systems (sprinklers, risers, hydrants, hose reels, deluge, foam, pumps, tanks) and related NFPA standards and BS codes.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, architectural, structural and coordinated MEP drawings and perform clash detection.
