Humanities Teacher

About the role

The International Schools Partnership (ISP) is looking for a Humanities Teacher in Abu Dhabi. The teacher prepares lessons, runs classes and supports students' academic and social needs, working closely with the Psychology Department and the Academic Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

• Plan lessons in advance and send plans to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator; prepare class materials and follow the yearly general plans.
• Maintain the grade book, enter grades on time, design monthly assessments and grade all assigned work.
• Keep the classroom decorated with lesson, activity and holiday materials and supervise the playground.
• Collaborate with the Psychology Department on students with academic or behavioural issues, special needs and gifted learners, and refer students with emotional, personal or family issues.
• Take part in teacher meetings, institutional workshops, parent meetings and school activities, and contact parents when needed.
• Record daily attendance, collect assignments for portfolios, assign a student to monitor the homework board and encourage student participation in subcommittees.
• Help organise community service projects, fundraising, fairs and other activities, and follow the work schedule which varies by grade level.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in education.
• Advanced English, fluent in speaking, reading and writing.
• Competencies: organisation, planning, leadership, analytical skills, ability to work under pressure, communication and strategic thinking.
• Proficiency in digital tools and intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Compliance with safeguarding and vetting procedures, including criminal background checks.
