Chief Specialist - Scheduling & Transportation Information

About the role

This role provides senior expert leadership in public transport scheduling, route optimization and transportation information systems, ensuring efficient, reliable and customer-focused bus services across Dubai. It covers strategic network planning, demand analysis, service quality improvements and cross-functional coordination, in line with PTA policies and the RTA's mobility vision.

Key responsibilities

• Determine demand patterns across Dubai's districts, identify main routes and design feeder and transit lines, and adjust for seasonal and event-based needs
• Update bus and driver reserve ratios based on performance data and international best practice
• Develop scheduling policies, procedures and standards, and lead implementation timelines with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead school transport scheduling initiatives and coordinate promotional plans for mobility apps with Marketing and Corporate Communication
• Provide transport information on routes, fares, shelters and budgets, and compare operated trips with scheduled ones with the Control Center
• Organize monthly scheduling and transport information review meetings, respond to Tarasul letters and lead department-level audits
• Oversee events and manual schedule changes, and lead bus stop naming and auditing teams
• Analyze operational costs (fuel, maintenance, salaries), evaluate service reliability through field surveys and streamline scheduling processes
• Lead employee satisfaction initiatives and act as project lead for department director office mandates

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Transportation, Civil Engineering or a closely related field; Master's preferred
• 11+ years of progressive experience with a Bachelor's, 9+ with a Master's
• Certification in transportation planning, project management (PMP) or scheduling systems administration
