Commis 2 - Bakery

About the role

FIVE Hotels and Resorts is hiring a Commis 2 for its bakery in Dubai. The role sits within a kitchen team supporting the hotel's restaurant, with a fixed monthly salary of AED 1,200. Candidates should have a proven track record in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, meeting the highest culinary standards.
• Support Senior Chefs so that food production and service run smoothly.
• Manage mise en place and stock rotation to keep the kitchen organised and efficient.
• Carry out tasks assigned by Senior Chefs promptly and accurately.
• Take part in menu development with new dish ideas.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards strictly.
• Work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the hotel.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commis 2 or similar in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant.
• Culinary degree or equivalent qualification preferred but not mandatory.
• Outstanding pre-opening experience setting up kitchen operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Food preparation, presentation and plating methods.
• Knowledge of international cuisine, culinary techniques and food trends.
• HACCP principles, health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards and best restaurant practices.
