Commis 2 - Hotel Kitchen

About the role

NH Collection Dubai The Palm is looking for a Commis 2 to join its culinary team. You will support the preparation and production of food while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene and cleanliness, working under the guidance of the Chef de Partie and senior chefs while developing your culinary skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients and food items according to approved recipes and standards.
• Complete daily mise-en-place requirements for the assigned kitchen section.
• Assist senior chefs with cooking, plating and food preparation during service.
• Store, label and rotate food products according to FIFO procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, equipment and kitchen areas.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
• Help control food waste and check ingredient freshness and quality before use.
• Handle kitchen equipment and utensils safely and support other kitchen sections during busy periods.
• Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie and comply with NH Collection and Minor Hotels policies and brand standards.

Required profile

• Previous culinary experience, preferably in a hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Culinary qualification or relevant training is an advantage.
