Commis II – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis II will support the kitchen team at Aloft Abu Dhabi by preparing ingredients, cooking food, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash and peel fruits and vegetables, and measure and mix components.
• Cook food according to recipes and quality standards, operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers, and test food for doneness.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness, disinfect tools and equipment, and ensure proper temperature control.
• Assist with set‑up and break‑down of work stations and serve food in correct portions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Required skills

• Basic food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and safety procedures.
