Construction Superintendent - Offshore Projects

About the role

Wood is hiring an experienced Construction Superintendent from an offshore background to oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities for a high-profile client. The role supervises construction carried out by EPC contractors and subcontractors so that works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, ADNOC standards, HSE requirements, quality standards and contractual obligations, and are completed safely and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction by EPC contractors and subcontractors across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation, checking compliance with approved drawings, method statements, ITPs and ADNOC standards
• Monitor contractor performance, manpower, equipment, productivity and work-front readiness; conduct site inspections and walkdowns
• Ensure HSE compliance with ADNOC policies, UAE regulations and permit-to-work, JSA and risk assessment requirements; intervene on unsafe activities
• Verify quality compliance with drawings, codes and ITPs, close punch-list items and NCRs, and maintain inspection and test records
• Track progress against baseline schedules, review progress reports and manpower histograms, and recommend corrective measures for delays
• Take part in daily, weekly and monthly coordination meetings and report progress to the PMC Construction Manager
• Manage contractor performance, resolve interface issues, review method statements and RFIs, and liaise with ADNOC, contractors, subcontractors and vendors

Required profile

• Experienced Construction Superintendent with an offshore background
• Proven track record of overseeing and coordinating on-site activities
