Data and Analytics Specialist (Power BI)

About the role

Tech Carrot is looking for a Data and Analytics Specialist in Abu Dhabi. The role develops and maintains analytical solutions, dashboards and reports that support business decisions, turning stakeholder needs into technical specifications and BI standards. It works closely with the Digital Core Team and business units on BI projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain analytical solutions, dashboards and reports
• Translate stakeholder business needs into technical specifications and BI standards
• Develop, deploy and maintain Power BI cubes, data models and database queries, and optimise them for performance
• Perform advanced data modelling, data collection and analysis from primary and secondary sources
• Analyse trends and patterns in complex datasets and turn data into business insight
• Test reports, track and resolve defects until closure
• Collaborate with the Digital Core Team and business units on BI project goals, timelines and standardised reporting

Required profile

• 4 to 6 years of overall experience, mainly in analytics and BI, preferably in the Microsoft stack (MSBI, Power BI and Excel)
• Bachelor's degree or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Applications or a related field
• Experience creating business-critical dashboards and reports in Power BI using SQL Server and Lakehouse sources
• Experience with Dynamics 365 or ERP in a comparable IT, finance or business role
• Hands-on Power BI report design, including on-premise Power BI Report Server, DAX and T-SQL, integrated with cloud services
• Experience with data warehousing, dimensional modelling (star and snowflake schemas), SSAS cube maintenance, SSRS and Power BI

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses and BI development, with auditability and end-to-end lineage
• SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and SQL database administration (added advantage)
• Complex SQL queries, DAX measures and KPIs, and performance tuning of Power BI reports
• Preferred: Python/R scripting, RPA and predictive analytics
• Preferred: Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Storage and Azure Data Lake; Azure certifications such as DP-100 or PL-300
