About the role
The Demi Chef in our Seafood Market will support the kitchen team by preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards. This role involves handling fresh produce, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, portion, chop, wash, peel, and store fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and ensure proper temperature control.
- Cook and assemble dishes following recipes, presentation and food‑preparation checklists.
- Monitor food quality, test doneness, and serve portions onto appropriate receptacles.
- Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen experience.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks for an entire shift.
