Depot Manager - Bus Depots

About the role

The Depot Manager leads end-to-end management of bus depot operations, ensuring bus readiness, driver deployment, infrastructure preparedness and service continuity. The role also oversees safety compliance, operational performance and resource optimisation, drives strategic improvements and implements advanced technologies to deliver high-quality, efficient and reliable public transport.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare progress reports on open projects and strategic plans, and contribute to network planning, fleet expansion and route rationalisation
• Manage strategic projects such as depot infrastructure upgrades and fuel/energy transition, and lead cross-depot and cross-department teams
• Oversee readiness of infrastructure for electric buses, alternative fuels and new technologies; apply lean and Six Sigma methods
• Ensure buses, drivers and staff are available and ready for scheduled services, and manage driver deployment, training, performance and route allocations
• Handle operational incidents (breakdowns, accidents, fires, driver illness) via contingency plans, and assist in depot budget planning
• Supervise service dispatch and returns, rentals and special operations, and oversee asset and depot safety
• Conduct operational reviews, site checks and daily VOR meetings, monitor fuel/energy consumption and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports
• Analyse depot data, lead continuous improvement, run self-assessments and strengthen dashboards and reporting

Required profile

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Transport or Operations Management, or a Master's in Transport Systems
• 6+ years of experience with a Master's degree, or 8+ years with a Bachelor's degree
• UAE nationality only
