Design Technology (Food) Teacher

About the role

Aldar Education, a family of schools in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a Design Technology (Food) Teacher to join at the start of Term 3 (March 2027). The role supports a growing network of schools serving over 38,000 students, with a focus on inclusive, play-based learning and high-quality teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Design Technology (Food) using the school's curriculum, syllabus, materials and schemes of work, and adapt lessons to the whole ability range of the class
• Plan lessons and sequences in the long, medium and short term, and prepare engaging classroom displays and resources
• Identify clear learning objectives and adjust teaching, planning and the curriculum based on student progress
• Support SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students through differentiation, and facilitate hybrid, distance and face-to-face lessons
• Manage classes effectively, maintain good relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model
• Follow school policies on behaviour, code of conduct and child safeguarding, and promote a safe, secure environment

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, including mandatory experience in an international school
• Experience working with EAL students
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Ability to deal professionally with a range of stakeholders and to communicate with parents in a diverse, multicultural environment
