Director of Finance (Emirati Applicants)

About the role

Lead the organization’s finance function, ensuring sound financial planning, accurate reporting, effective controls, and responsible management of financial resources. Partner with senior leadership to support strategic decisions and improve financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategy, policies and procedures aligned with organisational objectives.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning across departments.
• Monitor budget utilisation, analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee accounting operations, month‑end and year‑end closing and preparation of financial statements.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, treasury activities and banking relationships.
• Maintain internal controls, approval processes and segregation of duties.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve findings promptly.
• Evaluate business cases, investment proposals and strategic initiatives for financial viability.
• Drive improvements in ERP systems, financial reporting, automation and data quality.
• Lead and develop the finance team, setting performance standards and succession plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or CMA) required.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years leading a finance function.
• Proven experience in financial planning, accounting, reporting, treasury, controls and audit.
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting standards and tax requirements.
• Experience in government, semi‑government, media or similarly complex organisations preferred.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills.
