Director - Wellness

About the role

Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, a global icon of luxury hospitality undergoing a restoration led by designer Tristan Auer, is looking for a Director - Wellness. The role leads the pre-opening, talent acquisition and operational readiness for the ultra-luxury Talise launch, and defines an integrated wellness strategy covering Spa, Gym, Tech, Medicine, Suites and Partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an integrated, six-pillar wellness strategy and lead pre-opening, talent acquisition and operational readiness for the Talise launch.
• Design holistic, personalized wellness pathways and family/junior wellbeing experiences across pre-, during and post-stay touchpoints.
• Lead the wellness workforce through accountability and capability building, working with Rooms, F&B, Culinary, Guest Relations, Concierge, Retail and Marketing.
• Meet key financial and operational KPIs such as revenue growth, profitability, capture rates, retail performance, guest satisfaction and team productivity.
• Cultivate flexible, clinically credible relationships with medical advisers and specialist practitioners, using technology for assessment, personalization and recovery tracking.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality, spa or wellness, including a high-end, multi-faceted, commercially accountable wellness operation.
• Proven experience creating integrated wellness strategies, signature programmes and personalized guest pathways.
• Experience leading multicultural teams of therapists, fitness professionals, wellness specialists, reception colleagues and operational leaders.
• Track record of using guest insight, technology and measurable outcomes to improve personalization, engagement and service quality.
• Demonstrated success growing revenue, retail and cross-spend while maintaining care, hygiene, safety and clinical governance standards.
• Building specialist external partnerships and introducing family, restorative or preventative wellness propositions is desirable.
