Draftsman - Civil Construction & Telecom Infrastructure

About the role

XAD Technologies is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman in Sharjah to prepare, modify and maintain technical drawings for civil construction and telecom infrastructure projects. The draftsman works with project engineers and site teams to ensure drawing accuracy, compliance with project specifications and timely submission of drawings for execution and approval.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction drawings, layouts and technical plans, including civil and telecom drawings such as trenches, duct routes, handholes, manholes and fiber-optic routes
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and approved modifications
• Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors and NOC teams on design requirements and site changes, and review site measurements
• Incorporate feedback from engineers, clients and consultants into revised drawings
• Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions, and submit shop drawings, as-built drawings and final drawing packages for approval
• Provide drawing support during site execution, revise drawings according to red-line markups and site instructions, and help resolve drawing discrepancies
• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings when required

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related technical field
• 2-5 years of drafting experience in civil construction, telecom infrastructure or related projects; immediate joiners preferred
• Strong attention to detail, good communication and coordination skills, and ability to meet project deadlines

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D); knowledge of Revit or other drafting software is an advantage
• Understanding of civil and structural drafting principles and familiarity with telecom and civil infrastructure drawings
• Ability to interpret plans, elevations, sections and site markups
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and drawing/document management tools
