Electrical Engineer (Site Supervision)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Site Supervision) to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role oversees electrical installations and systems on construction sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards, while supervising electrical work, coordinating with contractors and teams, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all electrical installation activities on site, ensuring work meets design specifications and UAE electrical codes
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with project requirements and safety standards
• Manage and mentor electrical teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring efficient workflow
• Analyze electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation to identify issues and implement solutions
• Coordinate with other trades and stakeholders for seamless MEP integration and project progression
• Document site activities, including daily reports, inspection records and non-conformance reports
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental protocols on site
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and resolve them promptly to minimise project delays
• Maintain records of materials, equipment and labour, and communicate project status and recommendations to project management and clients
• Conduct safety briefings and training sessions for on-site personnel

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in site supervision or project management
• Strong knowledge of UAE electrical codes, standards and construction regulations
• Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems, power distribution and installation practices
• Proven leadership and team management skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design software
• Knowledge of UAE electrical codes and construction regulations
