Electrical Engineer - Street Lighting

About the role

AECOM is looking for an Electrical Engineer focused on street lighting for a construction supervision and quality control role in Dubai. The engineer supervises electrical works on roads, bridges, underpasses and related infrastructure, including street lighting, feeder pillars, LV cable networks, lighting control systems and architectural lighting.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure electrical installations follow approved designs, specifications and authority requirements
• Develop inspection and test procedures and review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and ITPs
• Witness testing, commissioning and energization of electrical systems
• Coordinate with DEWA for supply connections, inspections and NOC approvals, and liaise with other authorities and utilities
• Work with civil, structural and mechanical teams and the design office on sequencing, material reviews and design queries
• Maintain inspection and test records, prepare progress report inputs, punch lists and handover documentation
• Supervise electrical inspectors, promote safety and ensure HSE compliance on site

Required profile

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the UAE
• BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of local authority procedures, standards and regulations in the UAE is essential
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
