Estimation Manager - Construction

About the role

Careers International is recruiting an Estimation Manager (listed as Estimation Engineer) in Abu Dhabi. The role covers estimating the costs of construction projects so they remain financially viable and within budget. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications and other documents to understand scope, requirements and constraints.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment and overhead.
• Take off quantities of materials, labour and equipment needed for construction.
• Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive prices.
• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasting and tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Suggest alternative materials or methods that save cost without compromising quality.
• Prepare and submit bids in response to tenders and RFPs.
• Identify cost risks and develop contingency plans.
• Work with project managers, architects and engineers, and report regularly on estimated, actual and variance costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Previous experience in estimating or related roles in construction is highly beneficial.
• Strong quantitative skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction materials, methods and processes.
• Familiarity with estimation software such as PlanSwift and pre-contracting software.
• Negotiation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations and industry standards.
