Fire Fighting Technician

About the role

Gulf City, a Civil Defense-approved, A+ certified fire protection contractor in the UAE, is hiring a Fire Fighting Technician for a full-time, on-site position in Dubai. The technician installs, tests, commissions and maintains fire fighting and fire alarm systems, including pumps, sprinklers, suppression systems and related safety equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, commission and maintain fire fighting and fire alarm systems, including pumps, sprinklers, suppression systems and related safety equipment.
• Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot faults and rectify system issues.
• Support refilling and servicing of fire extinguishers and gas-based suppression systems.
• Respond to service calls and assist in system modifications and extensions.
• Ensure all work complies with Civil Defense regulations and company quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, technical managers and other team members to deliver compliant fire protection solutions.

Required profile

• Demonstrated knowledge of fire safety and life safety practices, including Fire Safety and Life Safety standards.
• Hands-on experience with fire protection equipment, such as fire extinguisher servicing and gas-based suppression systems (e.g., FM200).
• Experience with sprinkler systems, fire pumps and related installations is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with UAE Civil Defense codes, regulations and certification requirements is an advantage.
• Technical diploma or vocational qualification in fire protection, mechanical, electrical or a related engineering field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, system schematics and installation manuals.
• Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures and ability to work on-site in a field team.
• Basic proficiency in English; Arabic language skills.
