Food & Beverage Team Leader

About the role

Sheraton Grand Hotel is looking for a Food & Beverage Team Leader to supervise the service operation of the restaurant during specific shifts. The aim is the highest possible customer satisfaction, cost efficiency and profitability, while helping employees meet product and service standards within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Organize pre-shift and departmental meetings covering occupancy, menu changes, daily schedule and work assignments
• Keep yourself and your team tidy and well presented
• Work with Guest Relations, Front Office and other service departments, and monitor duty schedules
• Prepare mise-en-place for 24-hour service and report maintenance issues to the Manager
• Communicate complaints and issues directly to the Assistant Outlet Manager and F&B Operations Manager
• Know the menu well, attend training sessions and help train new team members
• Perform other duties as requested, including guest service, order delivery, bussing and cashier duties

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree plus at least three years of food and beverage service experience
• Good verbal and written communication, planning and prioritization, and teamwork
• Ability to supervise staff, including assigning duties and taking disciplinary action
• Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations and of food and alcoholic beverages
• Physical ability to lift up to 5.5 kg regularly, trays up to 11 kg frequently and equipment up to 90 kg occasionally
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, split or overnight shifts and extended hours

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of hotel computer systems
• Ability to prepare and analyze data and figures
• Working knowledge of employment, safety and labour laws
