General Cashier & Cost Accountant (Hospitality)

About the role

Join the finance team of a luxury hotel and ensure accurate cash handling, cost accounting, and financial reporting. You will play a key part in maintaining the financial integrity of daily hotel operations while supporting budgeting and cost‑control initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily bank deposits and coordinate armored‑car pick‑ups.
• Process cash and bar due‑backs, reconcile cash envelopes, and report discrepancies to the Director of Finance.
• Maintain sufficient cash on hand for hotel operations and provide change to staff.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecast cost data, and perform variance analysis.
• Maintain inventory records, monitor turnover, and flag slow‑moving or expiring items.
• Establish and update standard costing systems, analyse cost variances, and implement cost‑control measures.
• Prepare cost of sales, cost variance, and profitability reports in compliance with accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audits by supplying cost data and documentation.
• Attend finance meetings and collaborate with departmental managers to identify efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Strong experience in cash handling, bank deposits, and daily cash reconciliation.
• Solid knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial and cost reports.
• Familiarity with inventory control and stock‑level monitoring.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance.
• Good communication skills to work with finance and hotel departments.
