General Technician

About the role

The General Technician provides on‑site maintenance and repair services for guest rooms, common areas and building systems in a hospitality environment. You will respond to guest requests, perform preventive maintenance and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions promptly.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical‑room assets and building systems.
• Inspect, lubricate and clean equipment; identify and operate shut‑off valves for utilities.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and log daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Perform minor painting, drywall, wood‑trim repairs, replace light bulbs, A/C filters and conduct thorough clean‑up after work.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical components, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, landscaping systems and other guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, and report hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls and carpentry.
• Ability to acquire additional technical knowledge on the job.
• Physical capability to lift, carry or move objects up to 50 lb.
• Clear, professional communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
