Geotechnical Inspector

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Geotechnical Inspector in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role covers a range of construction inspection activities, including quality control procedures, and involves working with clients, contractors and subcontractors to verify project requirements and ensure professional workmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with clients and contractor staff to determine and verify project requirements.
• Perform geological tests such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation, gradation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression, line and grade surveys, bolt torques and concrete coring.
• Provide general inspection of all construction labour and subcontracted tasks and verify equipment alignment and balancing operations.
• Receive material inspection requests (MIR) from the contractor, inspect civil materials delivered at site and report on quantity and technical compliance before signing them off.
• Prepare and complete the necessary documentation before inspection, keep complete records of the works' execution and monitor project quality control procedures for improvement.
• Ensure site progress information is communicated regularly and coordinate works to ensure a successful project hand-over.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Geological Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil/geotechnical inspection of land development construction works.
• Ability to work independently, strong oral and written communication skills, and commitment to safe work practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of and experience with computer software such as Flaxis and GeoStudio.
• Experience with Slide GCC is preferred.
