Head, Category Management - Projects Equipment

About the role

ADNOC is looking for a Head of Category Management for Projects Equipment in Abu Dhabi. The role leads and supports Category Management and Strategic Sourcing personnel across the ADNOC Group, guiding the development of strategies to manage hundreds of millions of dollars of third-party spend. It covers the full Category Management life cycle, from strategy and sourcing to implementation and supplier management, and works closely with the Manager and senior leaders of procurement functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple complex, strategic categories in parallel with limited supervision, overseeing specialists' deliverables and ensuring quality.
• Build and run cross-functional Category Management Teams with technical and procurement resources across Group companies to develop and implement value-generating strategies.
• Plan and execute category strategies, including identifying common global categories, analysing historical spend and pricing, forecasting demand and inventory, and reducing total cost of ownership through standardization and lower inventory.
• Lead collaborative efficiency workshops with suppliers and represent the Sector when requested.
• Manage segmentation and selection of key and strategic categories and suppliers, and identify sourcing levers such as specification rationalization, standardization, substitution and volume bundling.
• Review and endorse contracting strategies (tenders, framework agreements, long-term contracts, partnerships), define evaluation criteria including Total Cost of Ownership and ICV, and review terms and conditions.
• Support the issuance of framework agreements and work orders, monitor supplier performance and coordinate improvements at framework level.
• Use leading procurement frameworks such as Kraljic, Porter's Five Forces and Purchasing Chessboard, and coach and mentor Category teams and procurement talent across the Group.
• Maintain accurate sector records, lead project management for Category Management teams, and drive adoption of ADNOC ESG initiatives through Category Management.
