Head of Art - Yasmina British Academy (Term 2 2027)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Head of Art for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in Term 2 2027. The post covers teaching, assessment, pastoral support and department leadership within the British curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and plan sessions that meet the curriculum requirements, working with colleagues and parents to support student outcomes
• Act as form tutor and support the pastoral needs of students
• Organise classroom provision, learning resources and displays; observe and assess pupils according to the Assessment Policy
• Use assessment data to inform planning, provision and intervention, and give parents feedback at conferences and meetings
• Manage classes effectively, follow the Behaviour Policy and act as a positive role model
• Work with the department team on planning, assessment, resources and special events, and run a weekly ECA each term
• Take part in school events, outings and activities, and communicate with parents and carers using school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or equivalent
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum
• Experience in more than one international school is desirable
• Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum

Required skills

• Clear understanding of the British curriculum
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
• Graphic design experience is highly beneficial
