Health, Safety and Environment Site Inspector

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Site Inspector in Dubai. The inspector liaises with Safety Engineers, the Safety Manager and contractors to improve and implement corporate, contract and site HSE management requirements. The role involves monitoring contractors' HSE compliance, reviewing risk controls and incident reports, and working shifts and weekends to cover site needs.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the project HSE policy, plan and legislation, monitor HSE performance and targets, and suggest improvements
• Liaise with the Safety Manager and contractors on HSE management requirements
• Monitor contractors' activities to ensure health, safety and environmental measures and best practices are followed
• Review hazard analysis, risk assessment plans, job safety plans and work method statements, and check hazard control measures
• Carry out HSE visits and report concerns to the Resident Engineer for immediate rectification
• Review contractors' monthly HSE inspection reports and conduct monthly safety meetings, including minutes and follow-up
• Review emergency preparedness and response, permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, daily task safety talks, HSE statistics and records, and incident and accident investigation reports
• Perform trend analysis to identify potential hazards and review emergency response and rescue plans and drills
• Work shifts and weekends as required by site needs and contractor works

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma (3 years) in any discipline
• Minimum 8+ years of related experience in health and safety, particularly in infrastructure, tunneling and/or metro projects
• Recognized health and safety certification, license or training in the UAE (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, fire safety)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality codes of practice or technical guidelines
• UAE driving licence
