Human Resources Director – Middle East & Africa

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Human Resources Director to lead the people strategy for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. In this senior position you will partner with business leaders to align human capital priorities with business objectives, strengthen organisational capability and foster a culture where talent can grow and perform.

Key responsibilities

• Align HR strategy and operating plans with regional business objectives and priorities.
• Advise senior leaders on labour relations, risk mitigation, policy interpretation and regulatory changes.
• Develop regional staffing strategies, workforce plans and external sourcing approaches.
• Partner with Compensation to design reward and recognition programmes that drive performance.
• Support diversity and inclusion initiatives to attract, develop and retain talent across the region.
• Build HR planning models to identify competency and talent gaps and create targeted development programmes.
• Lead succession planning, leadership development and broader learning initiatives for key roles.
• Enhance HR policies, tools and technology strategies to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in an HR leadership role with responsibility for the Middle East and Africa.
• Strong knowledge of labour‑relations policies, workforce strategies, risk mitigation and the legal landscape.
• Demonstrated ability to partner across functions and regions to redesign organisations and improve outcomes.
• Strategic thinking with the capability to translate plans into phased, executable actions.
• Experience influencing senior leadership and driving decisions across multiple business areas.
• Ability to lead effectively in a fast‑paced, progressive and innovative environment.
• Project and programme management expertise applied in operational settings.
• Proficiency in English (Arabic preferred).
