Impact Investment Director / Managing Director

About the role

This senior position will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Managing Partner of a newly launched independent private equity platform focused on UN SDG‑aligned investments in emerging markets. The role involves shaping the investment approach, building the pipeline, and leading the full investment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and source proprietary deal flow across target geographies, accessing off‑market opportunities and screening them against impact and risk‑return criteria.
• Lead end‑to‑end evaluation and multi‑disciplinary due diligence, including commercial, financial, legal, ESG and impact analysis.
• Build complex valuation models, structure transactions using blended‑finance instruments, and negotiate terms.
• Hold board seats, monitor KPIs, and design value‑creation strategies with portfolio companies.
• Define exit pathways to achieve target gross IRR and MOIC, leading sell‑side processes and documentation.
• Embed UN SDG Impact Standards and IRIS+ metrics into every deal and ensure third‑party verified reporting.
• Support LP engagement, build relationships with DFIs, family offices and sovereign allocators, and represent the fund at industry forums.

Required profile

• 10+ years of private equity experience with a strong track record in growth equity.
• Deep expertise in impact investing, UN SDG‑aligned strategies and emerging‑market PE.
• Experience exercising governance rights, board representation and driving portfolio value creation.
• Domain expertise in at least one sector such as climate tech, waste, water, energy, food systems, healthcare or education.
• Top‑tier academic background (MSc, MBA or CFA preferred) and ability to engage senior DFIs, regulators and CEOs.
