Infrastructure Project Manager

About the role

AECOM is looking for a dynamic, results-driven Project Manager to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role oversees and executes infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring delivery standards, adherence to timelines and budgets, and client satisfaction, through strategic planning, proactive risk management and collaborative team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, scope adherence and budget compliance
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocation strategies, and monitor progress with corrective actions
• Act as primary point of contact for clients and communicate updates, milestones and changes to stakeholders
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Supervise and mentor project teams and coordinate with cross-functional teams and design partners
• Oversee design coordination so outputs meet project requirements, industry standards and client expectations
• Implement project management best practices and standard operating procedures, and run regular project reviews and post-project evaluations
• Analyse project performance and prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with construction regulations, local authority requirements and standards in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, and contractual obligations

Required profile

• 9 years of progressive experience in infrastructure project management
• Proven track record managing medium-scale infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
• Domain expertise in infrastructure development, civil engineering or related fields
• Experience coordinating design processes and managing design teams
• Background in budget management, schedule optimisation and resource planning
• Experience managing projects in the UAE or GCC is highly desirable
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field

Required skills

• Project management software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project
• Knowledge of construction regulations, local authority requirements and standard consultancy agreements in Abu Dhabi and the UAE (a must)
• Knowledge of standard D&B contracts used in Abu Dhabi and the UAE is preferred
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred; BIM and digital project management tools preferred
