International Senior Trafficking in Persons Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks an experienced senior consultant to lead the design and delivery of training programmes on combating trafficking in persons. The role focuses on creating tailored learning materials and conducting online sessions for a variety of stakeholders across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt training materials on sexual exploitation, victim protection, and referral procedures.
• Design and deliver online training sessions covering vulnerable groups, exploitative begging, media engagement, and tourism‑related risks.
• Create self‑learning programmes and finalize protocols such as school‑based reporting of trafficking.
• Review and update international and national legal frameworks, including ICAO guidelines for airports.
• Conduct a study of existing agreements with labour‑sending countries, identify gaps, and propose new memoranda of understanding.
• Facilitate coordination mechanisms among authorities for inspection, investigation, and prosecution.
• Support integration of national screening, shelter, and referral bodies for victims.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in anti‑trafficking programmes, preferably with UN or international organisations.
• Proven track record in developing curriculum and delivering virtual training.
• Strong knowledge of international and national legal frameworks related to trafficking in persons.
• Excellent analytical and report‑writing skills.
