Licensed Flight Dispatcher

About the role

The Licensed Flight Dispatcher will exercise operational control of Emirates flights in line with GCAA regulations, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and efficient flight execution. Acting as the critical link between flight crews, ground operations and third‑party service providers, the role supports seamless coordination across the airline’s global network.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and determine optimal routes, altitudes and fuel requirements for each flight, considering economics, meteorology, safety and legal constraints.
• Calculate take‑off, landing performance and regulated weights, and optimise commercial payload by adjusting route, speed and altitude.
• Prepare, file and sign ATC flight plans, and deliver all briefing documentation to operating crews on time.
• Negotiate airport and airway slots with worldwide government agencies to avoid potential delays.
• Monitor flights until safe touchdown, develop alternative plans when safety envelopes are threatened, and support crews during decision‑making or troubleshooting.
• Perform quality checks on General Handling Agent briefings and dispatch services at outstations.

Required profile

• GCAA dispatch licence with at least one year of exercising its privileges, or ICAO dispatch licence recognised by the GCAA with a minimum of three years’ documented experience.
• Alternatively, five years of documented dispatcher experience with a major airline where a dispatch licence is not required.
• Strong knowledge of GCAA regulations, ETOPS diversion strategies and flight‑watch procedures.
