Managing Principal / Director, Sector Lead (Recruitment & Search)

About the role

Tandem Search is a specialist search and selection agency working with blue-chip organisations across EMEA, APAC and the GCC. It is looking for an experienced Managing Principal or Director to lead and grow a practice in one of its core sectors. This is an originator role focused on winning new business, building long-term client partnerships and delivering senior mandates across retained, exclusive and contingent models.

Key responsibilities

• Originate new business and build a sector practice with a strong, sustainable pipeline of senior mandates.
• Deliver Director, Managing Director, Partner and CXO level searches through retained, exclusive or contingent engagements.
• Negotiate commercial terms using a consultative, research-led and data-driven approach, including market mapping and talent intelligence.
• Convert contingent relationships into retained or exclusive partnerships where appropriate.
• Expand key client relationships across the region and internationally.
• Take full P&L accountability for the sector practice.
• Recruit, develop and lead team members as the practice grows, and contribute to company-wide training and mentoring of junior consultants.

Required profile

• 5+ years of recruitment or executive search experience in the chosen sector, gained at a globally reputed search firm or a well-respected boutique.
• A deep, established network of senior clients and candidates within the domain.
• Proven track record of origination, high personal billings and consistently exceeding targets.
• Experience across retained and contingent delivery, advising clients on the right engagement model.
• Genuine leadership skills, ambition to build and lead a team, and strong networking, business development and negotiation abilities.
