Mathematics Teacher - Bateen World Academy 2027-2028

About the role

Aldar Academies is recruiting a Mathematics Teacher for Bateen World Academy, a British and IB World School in central Abu Dhabi, for the 2027-2028 academic year. The school runs the IB Primary Years Programme (FS1 to Year 6) and the IB Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme (Years 12 and 13). Successful candidates must share the school's core values and show a genuine understanding of the region's values.

Key responsibilities

• Plan teaching and learning in line with the school's Teaching and Learning Policy, setting clear objectives and targets and differentiating for SEN, EAL and G&T students
• Use assessment for learning, performance data and ICT to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons
• Maintain discipline according to the Behaviour for Learning Policy and mark work at least once every two weeks
• Assess and record student progress, mark as requested by examination bodies, and report to parents
• Support parent/student events and contribute to subject development by updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
• Keep subject knowledge up to date through CPD and professional reading
• Lead or support one after-school CAS activity each term, act as Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13, cover absent colleagues, invigilate exams and perform other duties assigned by the Principal

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with a PGCE or other teacher qualification
• At least 2 years of teaching experience
• Experience in more than one international school and teaching IB and I/GCSE
• Clean enhanced DBS or police check

Required skills

• Very good or outstanding teacher with proven success across an ability range
• Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations
• Commitment to the school's vision, the IB philosophy and mission, and to continuing professional development
• Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and remain resilient
