Mechanical Draftsman

About the role

Careers International is hiring a full-time Mechanical Draftsman in Dubai within the construction sector. The role covers drafting and designing mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing and fire protection, working closely with engineers, project managers and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Draft detailed mechanical drawings for construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection layouts, in line with building codes and regulations, and revise them for project changes and client feedback.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers and communicate with construction teams so that mechanical systems are installed correctly.
• Create 3D models with CAD and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit) and help with clash detection between architectural, structural and electrical disciplines.
• Maintain records of design revisions and drawings, generate reports and deliverables, and occasionally visit sites to check installations and resolve on-site issues.
• Review mechanical systems and drawings for accuracy, safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology or a related field; CAD certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman, preferably in construction or engineering, with proven experience in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection drafting.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and specifications, and willingness to travel to construction sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and other drafting software.
• Familiarity with BIM and 3D modeling software.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, mechanical systems design and construction processes.
• Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
