Mechanical Inspector (Site Supervision)

About the role

AECOM is looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector (Site Supervision) to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role covers on-site mechanical inspection operations, supervising inspection teams and making sure all work meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. It involves conducting thorough inspections, documenting findings and providing technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mechanical inspections on construction and industrial sites, identifying defects, non-conformities and deviations from specifications.
• Supervise and coordinate inspection teams, assign tasks, monitor progress and ensure adherence to inspection protocols and timelines.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation, analysing findings and communicating results to project stakeholders and management.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with UAE regulations, industry standards and client requirements.
• Perform quality assurance checks on mechanical systems, equipment and installations to verify proper functionality and safety.
• Maintain organised and accurate inspection records, documentation and databases for audit and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to inspection team members.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and contractors to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
• Analyse inspection data and trends to identify improvements and recommend process enhancements.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in mechanical inspection within construction, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Strong expertise in mechanical systems, equipment and installation procedures.
• Knowledge of mechanical inspection standards, codes and regulatory requirements applicable to UAE operations.

Required skills
