MEP Construction Manager

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Construction Manager in Dubai for a civil construction project. The MEP Construction Manager oversees every aspect of the project, from planning to execution, ensuring completion within the agreed timeline, budget and quality standards. The role calls for strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills to manage multiple teams and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run detailed project execution plans, monitor milestones and deliverables, and coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers and subcontractors
• Oversee daily site activities, manage site engineers, foremen and subcontractors, and allocate manpower, materials and equipment
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and industry standards, and carry out regular inspections and quality control checks
• Manage budgets, cost estimates and expenses, approve purchase requests and subcontractor invoices, and monitor variation orders and claims
• Enforce HSE policies, conduct safety meetings, risk assessments and audits, and investigate accidents
• Maintain project schedules (e.g. Primavera or MS Project), prepare progress reports, track documentation, RFIs and approvals, and liaise with government authorities for permits and inspections
• Handle contract disputes, variations and change orders, and ensure snagging and defect rectification before handover
• Coordinate commissioning and testing with MEP and finishing teams, and submit as-built drawings, O&M manuals and warranty documents

Required profile

• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Expertise in civil construction, structural works and finishing works
• Deep understanding of contracts, BOQs and construction methodologies
• Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of HSE regulations and quality standards such as ISO 9001 and OSHA
