MEP Quantity Surveyor

About the role

A senior MEP Quantity Surveyor is sought for the UAE/GCC construction market. The role covers the full commercial lifecycle of large-scale MEP projects, from pre-contract and tendering through to final account settlement, working closely with project managers, engineers, consultants and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead MEP contractors on high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, healthcare and infrastructure projects
• Quantity take-offs, measurement, cost planning, budgeting and estimation of MEP works
• Prepare and evaluate variations, claims, extension of time (EOT) requests and cost impact assessments
• Subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, contract administration and commercial negotiations
• Prepare interim payment applications, monthly valuations, cost reports and final accounts
• Review drawings, specifications and BOQs and identify commercial implications
• Manage project cash flow, cost control, forecasting and reporting
• Coordinate with project managers, planning teams, engineers, consultants and clients

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in MEP Quantity Surveying within the UAE/GCC construction industry
• Proven experience with Tier-1 MEP contractors and large-scale projects
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems: HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, drainage, electrical, ELV and infrastructure services
• Experience in both pre-contract and post-contract commercial management
• UAE/GCC contracting experience is essential; short-notice availability preferred

Required skills

• FIDIC contracts, contractual obligations and commercial risk management
• MS Excel and commercial reporting tools
• AutoCAD, Navisworks and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle are advantageous
• BIM-based quantity extraction and cost management preferred
