MLRO, Group Compliance & Data Protection Officer

About the role

Baker Tilly (UAE) is seeking an experienced MLRO, Group Compliance and Data Protection Officer to oversee the firm's AML/CFT, sanctions, compliance and data protection functions. The position is based in the headquarters office in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the appointed MLRO and Data Protection Officer (DPO).
• Maintain and enhance AML/CFT, sanctions, compliance and data protection frameworks.
• Oversee client due diligence, sanctions screening and high-risk client reviews.
• Conduct compliance monitoring, risk assessments and internal reviews.
• Advise management on regulatory, compliance and privacy obligations.
• Manage regulatory reporting, investigations and regulatory interactions.
• Deliver compliance and data protection training across the firm.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Compliance or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as CAMS, ICA, CIPP or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in AML/CFT, compliance, risk management or data protection.
• Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory, AML/CFT, sanctions and data protection requirements.
• Proactive, with sound judgment and the ability to foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
