Operation Theatre Nurse – Trauma Care

About the role

The Operation Theatre Nurse – Trauma Care provides expert peri‑operative support for trauma and emergency surgeries at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure safe, high‑quality patient care from pre‑operative preparation through post‑operative recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive peri‑operative nursing care for trauma and emergency surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists and allied staff during procedures while maintaining aseptic standards.
• Prepare, check, and manage surgical instruments, equipment, implants and consumables.
• Monitor and document patients’ vital signs and clinical status throughout the peri‑operative journey.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with recovery staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless theatre workflow.
• Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention and patient safety initiatives.
• Provide education to patients and families about surgical procedures and post‑operative care.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Valid DOH, DHA or MOH nursing license (or DOH eligibility).
• Minimum 2 years recent operating theatre experience, preferably in trauma or emergency surgery.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
