Paralegal – Family Law & Wills

About the role

A prestigious Abu Dhabi practice specialising in Family Law and Wills is looking for a skilled Paralegal to join its UAE team. The role supports lawyers on contentious and non-contentious matters, especially divorce, custody, guardianship, succession and will registration, working closely with both UAE and UK-based lawyers.

Key responsibilities

• Draft petitions, pleadings, submissions, wills and other legal documents in English (Arabic where required, though not mandatory).
• Assist in preparing and filing applications before the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and other UAE courts.
• Handle procedural steps in family law cases, including divorce, custody, guardianship, maintenance and inheritance.
• Prepare wills for UAE nationals and expatriates, liaising with notaries and court departments.
• Conduct legal research and prepare case notes, client updates and supporting bundles.
• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel and court officials, and arrange legal translations when needed.
• Maintain and organise case files in line with protocols and regulatory standards.
• Support UK-based lawyers on UAE-related family and estate matters.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or case coordinator.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic drafting skills are an advantage.
• Experience with ADJD processes is a plus.
• Relevant practical legal experience is essential; a law degree is not required.
