About the role
The Ritz-Carlton in Dubai is seeking a Commis I – Pastry to join its Food & Beverage team. You will support the pastry kitchen by preparing breads, pastries, doughs, and fillings while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and bake breads, pastries, doughs and fillings according to production sheets and recipes.
- Proof, bake, and decorate items, ensuring correct temperatures and food‑safety compliance.
- Maintain kitchen logs, report equipment issues, and keep the Chef informed of excess items for daily specials.
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and mentoring junior staff as needed.
Required profile
- Technical or vocational school education in culinary arts or related field.
- At least 2 years of hands‑on pastry experience in a hotel or fine‑dining environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lb, stand for long periods and work on uneven surfaces.
Required skills
- Baking and pastry preparation techniques.
- Food safety handling and personal hygiene procedures.
- Use of baking equipment, measuring tools and temperature monitoring.
