PMC Lead Piping Engineer (Early MP)

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Lead Piping Engineer to oversee the design, development and implementation of piping systems for a high-profile client in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that piping designs are functional, safe and compliant with project specifications, codes and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in all piping design and ensure compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards
• Coordinate, monitor and handle piping design and engineering with the EPC contractor within the agreed timeframe
• Work with other discipline engineers, the IPMT, the EPC contractor and ADNOC to resolve technical issues and ensure quality
• Review and approve engineering consultant and EPC contractor piping designs, and perform regular technical reviews of deliverables
• Take part in design option analysis, equipment sizing and selection, and layout, model and design reviews
• Ensure facilities meet environmental and health guidelines and optimise use of existing facilities
• Assist during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning, and coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluations
• Report to the ADNOC Discipline Team Leader and Engineering Manager, and interface with contractors and internal technical departments

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
• Detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
• Ability to make independent decisions and solve complex problems

Required skills

• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
• Excellent written and verbal communication and technical teamwork skills
