PMC Project Engineer

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Project Engineer in Abu Dhabi to coordinate and monitor engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities for a high-profile client. The goal is to ensure project execution meets safety, quality, cost, schedule and technical performance requirements in line with client specifications, contractual obligations and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor engineering activities and review deliverables, drawings, specifications and technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams and support project plans, procedures and schedules.
• Review contractor and vendor submissions and evaluate them technically; identify risks, technical issues and potential delays and support mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, constructability reviews and technical discussions, and coordinate interfaces between disciplines and stakeholders.
• Support procurement, including material and equipment reviews and vendor coordination, and monitor construction and commissioning activities.
• Ensure adherence to HSE and quality management systems, prepare progress reports and technical correspondence, and support close-out, commissioning, start-up and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical or related).
• Typically 10+ years of experience in EPC, PMC, oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in project engineering, project coordination and multidisciplinary project environments.
• Strong written and verbal English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning and project lifecycle management.
• Project planning, scheduling, cost control and risk management.
• Familiarity with international codes, standards, specifications and HSE requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera P6/MS Project.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
