PMC Senior Construction Engineer - Fabrication Yard

About the role

Wood is hiring a Senior Construction Engineer for its PMC team covering all yard activities, for a high-profile client. The engineer supervises and coordinates fabrication and construction work done by EPC contractors and fabrication subcontractors on ADNOC projects, ensuring yard activities follow approved drawings, project specifications, ADNOC standards, international codes, quality requirements and HSE procedures. Completed modules, assemblies, piping systems and other fabricated components must meet project requirements before dispatch to the project site or offshore installation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise fabrication of structural steel, piping spools, pipe supports, skids, modules and equipment structures, checking compliance with AFC/IFC drawings, specifications and ADNOC standards
• Review fabrication sequences, work packages, method statements and execution plans, and verify qualified personnel, equipment and controlled procedures
• Conduct regular yard inspections and coordination walkdowns, and track availability of work fronts, bays, laydown areas, equipment, consumables and manpower
• Track daily fabrication progress against schedules and milestones, review look-ahead schedules, manpower histograms and production reports, and coordinate with PMC Planning and Project Controls
• Monitor welding, piping spool fabrication and structural fabrication, including WPS/PQR compliance, fit-up, welding, NDT, dimensional checks, coating and assembly
• Identify delays, resource constraints and engineering hold points, review recovery plans and report status, risks and mitigations to the PMC Construction Manager
• Take part in daily coordination meetings, weekly progress reviews and monthly project meetings
