PMC Senior Project Engineer

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Senior Project Engineer in Abu Dhabi to support its Project Manager in delivering a high-profile energy project. The key objective is to coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities so that safety, quality, cost, schedule and technical performance meet client requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee multidisciplinary engineering activities aligned with project objectives.
• Support the Project Manager in planning, execution, monitoring and control of project activities.
• Review and verify engineering deliverables, technical documents, drawings and contractor submissions.
• Monitor progress against schedule, budget and performance targets, and identify risks and delays with mitigation plans.
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, client requirements, codes, standards and HSE regulations.
• Take part in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews and technical meetings.
• Review contractor performance, resolve technical queries, and assist in change management, risk management and reporting.
• Support procurement through technical evaluations and vendor document reviews, and coordinate construction and commissioning for a smooth handover.
• Prepare progress reports, status updates and presentations for management and clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a strong safety, quality and continuous improvement culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical or related).
• Typically 15+ years of experience in EPC, PMC, oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in project engineering, project coordination and multidisciplinary project execution.
• Experience coordinating interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and operations teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• PMP, IPMA or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project management processes.
• Project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management and reporting.
• Familiarity with international codes, standards and HSE requirements.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
