PMC Senior Site Construction Engineer

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Senior Site Construction Engineer in Abu Dhabi to oversee and coordinate site construction activities on behalf of a high-profile client. The engineer ensures that works are executed safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications, quality standards, approved schedules and contractual requirements, supporting timely commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise site construction so that work follows approved drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, productivity, manpower, equipment and resource use
• Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, quality standards, codes and regulations
• Review and approve work packs, method statements and construction schedules; conduct site inspections, audits and progress reviews
• Identify risks and constraints and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations teams
• Support project controls with progress updates, forecasts and reporting
• Manage site queries, technical queries, field change requests and non-conformance reports
• Take part in constructability reviews and support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and handover
• Mentor junior engineers, supervisors and field personnel and promote safety, quality and teamwork

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, Structural or a related engineering discipline
• Typically 15+ years of experience in construction execution and site management in oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, refinery, power, energy or major infrastructure projects
• Proven experience in PMC, EPC or EPCM environments, especially on large brownfield and greenfield projects
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, supervisors and site personnel
• Experience supporting commissioning, start-up and handover

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and multidisciplinary site execution
• HSE regulations, quality management systems, permit-to-work and risk management
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Monitoring of progress, productivity, resources and construction KPIs
