Political Science Lecturer (Open Rank)

About the role

The Political Science Program in the Division of Social Science seeks an Open Rank Lecturer to lead the capstone seminar sequence for senior undergraduates in the International Affairs and Foreign Policy (IAFP) concentration and to teach IAFP‑designated courses.

Key responsibilities

• Run the capstone seminar for 30‑40 students across two sections each academic year.
• Teach two IAFP‑designated undergraduate courses annually.
• Supervise and mentor students through their year‑long capstone projects, ensuring mastery of key concepts and analytical methods.
• Assist the Head of Undergraduate Affairs with student advising.
• Participate in professional development activities, including attendance at social science conferences.

Required profile

• Expertise in International Affairs, Foreign Policy, or related fields such as conflict dynamics, strategic interactions, or international organizations.
• Experience supervising undergraduate capstone projects or similar research-intensive coursework.
• Ability to teach and develop curriculum for IAFP‑designated courses.
