Principal Fire and Life Safety Engineer (Chartered)

About the role

Jensen Hughes, a global leader in fire protection engineering founded in 1939, is looking for a Principal Fire Engineer to join its UAE team. The role leads some of the firm's most exciting projects and shapes future talent through mentorship and development, while delivering life safety solutions to clients across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Manage large and complex projects to ensure successful delivery to important clients.
• Work on a broad portfolio of projects across the Middle East and worldwide, covering all types of buildings.
• Conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and analysis for smoke movement.
• Develop and use computer modelling software such as CFAST, Pyrosim and Pathfinder to provide alternative fire engineering solutions.
• Lead a team of engineers and mentor and train graduates.
• Act as a client-facing consultant, managing site inspections and handling construction-related queries.
• Contribute to business development and find new clients to grow the business.

Required profile

• BEng/MEng or equivalent degree.
• Experience in a fire engineering consultancy delivering fire strategy and fire safety services, including fire risk assessments, fire management plans, fire protection design and analysis.
• Articulate communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to be based in the UAE and to travel more than 50% of the time to project sites.
